One time.... SHIT

Last night I was sitting around watching football, about to watch Entourage and Dexter and opened Full Tilt to see what action was going on.  I see there are like 3 or 4 tournaments about to start, and since I've had this tournament bug since playing the FTOPS events I decided to start registering.  I also saw my brother Rob in one of the tournaments so I joined that one as well.  Anytime we play a tournament together we swap 20% of eachother's action.  Pretty customary with poker players when they join the same tournament with friends.  Right before the tournament started Eskal logged on and started to shoot heads-up, I quickly sent him a messsage to join the tournament and we would split 20% 3-way.  He joined and we started to play this tournament with over 1300 players and around $7,000 for 1st.

A couple hours into the tournament we were all on fire, at one point me and Eskal were top 10 in chips with like 800 players remaining.  I was getting rocked in my other tournaments, but in this one I was winning every hand.  We all continued to accumulate chips and it really looked like we were all going to go deep.  We kept imagining if we all made the final table.  I don't know what the odds of that would of been, but it would of been sick.  About 4 hours in we all were in the money (which is pretty sick too).  Eskal was in 1st place and continued to win every hand.  Me and Rob had average stacks but I wasn't too worried.  My table was littered with fish giving away their chips.  Unfortunately though I lost a crucial coin flip, then got it in with 66 vs QQ and AK and busted out in around 35th place.  Then Eskal gets in a huge pot where he got it all in with 88 on a 6,4,2 flop and got called by 77... a SEVEN on the fucking turn, and that was pretty much the end of his tournament.  Sour.

Rob was the only one left and he didn't have many chips.  At one point he was under 10 big blinds.  He ended up shoving a lot, stealing some blinds and won some flips.  He gets to the final table with an average stack and I had no doubt he was going to win.  The blinds were pretty huge so it was an all-in fest.  He ends up winning a big pot where he sucked out with 55 vs QQ.  Its always nice to suckout, but in the back of my mind it scares me because I always think it evens out and you get fucked later on.  Anytime I give someone a bad beat early in a tournament I always feel like the poker gods return the favor and screw me at a crucial point at the final table.

Well thats exactly what happened, with like 5 people left, he gets it all in with AQ vs A,2 loses, then AK vs A2 lose again and there was another sick one where he lost to 10,2 offsuit allin preflop.  It was really really sick.  He ended up finishing 5th for over $2,000 which is nice because I had my percentage but 1st place would of been so much sweeter.

This is one thing I really hate about tournaments. You get SO deep and take a bad beat and miss a big pay day.  And we're talking about big bucks.  Those couple hands potentially costed Rob over $5000.

I don't need to bring up my WPT bad beat from a couple years ago that cost me MILLIONS and MILLIONS of dollars..lol...  God I hate poker.
