Tides are turning
Poker has really been going well lately. Last week I was able to string together a bunch of winning sessions and I felt like I was playing my 'A' game much more than I have been in the last few months. It helps that I'm not running below EV, and the games have been pretty good with a bunch of action. Whether this is the start of a heater or not, I'm going to do my best to remain positive and continue to work on my game as much as I can away from the table. A few sessions last week I quit early to review my hand histories and the hands I played against other regulars. Its crazy some of the information you will find on an opponent even when they play a small insignificant pot. One of the key skills in cash game poker is identifying your opponent's hand range, so I like to find a regular who is giving me some problems and look at all his hands that went to show down with and take notes on it. Even if you don't find a huge whole in their game, it gives you a psychological confidence next time you're in a pot with them. You're not thinking, "oh shit, why is this guy always bluffing me?", instead if you do fold its because you feel like you've identified his range correctly and made the proper decision.
I've been watching and enjoying a bunch of the Olympics since they started. Just watched Canada get their first gold tonight which was pretty inspiring. Seeing how happy all his friends and family were after he won was pretty cool. I can't even imagine what it would feel like to win something that significant, maybe one day in the future I'll win the WSOP and can have that same feeling...lol
Alright I'm off to bed... I'll sign off with this classic.
